Our Materials

Every piece begins with the cloth. Our fabrics come from Italian mills; each one is cut and sewn in Warsaw.

Below is what each fabric is, why we chose it and where you will find it.

01

Virgin Wool

Wool spun for the first time, never recovered from earlier garments. The fibre keeps its full length, and with it the softness, warmth and resistance to creasing that make a coat worth keeping.

It breathes, holds its shape and resists odour on its own. Most of the time it needs air and a brush, not cleaning.

Alen Wool Jacket and Zoye Wool Coat — 100% virgin wool.

02

Wool with Polyamide

Our fitted silhouettes are cut from virgin wool woven with a small share of polyamide. It keeps the cloth firm along a sharp shoulder and a narrow waist, and makes it stronger where a coat is worn hardest.

The wool remains what you see and what you feel.

Fitted Wool Coat, Fitted Balloon-Sleeve Wool Jacket and the Convertible Wool Kimono Coat in Black — 87% virgin wool, 13% polyamide.

03

Wool and Cashmere

In the Moss kimono, cashmere joins the wool. It is a small part of the blend and the part you notice first: a softer hand and a deeper, quieter colour.

Wool Kimono Coat in Moss — 75% virgin wool, 20% polyamide, 5% cashmere.

04

Cotton Gabardine

A tightly woven twill, developed for outerwear in the late nineteenth century and used for trench coats ever since. Dense, smooth and hard-wearing, it gives a trench its clean line.

A touch of elastane lets it move with you.

Dune Trench Coat — 98% cotton gabardine, 2% elastane.

05

Cotton and Silk

Cotton gives the cloth its structure; silk gives it a soft lustre and a lighter fall. Together they make a trench that holds its shape without feeling stiff.

Belted High-Collar Cotton-Silk Trench Coat — 88% cotton, 12% silk.

06

Silk and Viscose

Silk brings the sheen and the cool touch against the skin. Viscose adds weight, so the leg falls straight and moves as you walk.

Silk Wide-Leg Trousers — 55% silk, 45% viscose.

07

Linings

What sits against the body matters as much as what is seen. Our linings are chiefly viscose, and cupro in the Alen jacket — both made from plant cellulose, both smooth and breathable, so a coat slides on easily and stays comfortable indoors.
